ASTHMA - CHILD INHALERS on SCHOOL SITE

    6 September 2022 (by admin)

DOES YOUR CHILD NEED AN INHALER on SITE? PRESCRIBED PUPIL INHALERS need to be in school. INHALERS NEED TO BE IN-DATE. You will need to fill in an ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION CONSENT FORM (available at the main school office).

The dinner supervisor team and staff throughout school are given copies of the whole school PUPIL ASTHMA list so awareness is raised and pupil needs can be met accordingly. We review it every half-term.

If your child has ongoing diagnosed asthma needs, it is imperative you let us know because your child needs to be on the school list. It is also imperative that a PRESCRIBED inhaler is in school with your child's name clearly labelled.

It is imperative that the inhaler, that your child has in school, is in-date - ESSENTIAL!

Staff received training yesterday from the SCHOOL NURSE concerning asthma/epipen administration - all part of St. Bernard's whole school safeguarding agenda.

0121 464 3795 - contact the main school office and arrange to come into school to fill in the parent MEDICATION consent form.

Note, school has emergency inhalers on the school site also. School also has emergency epipens on the school site. School has an emergency AED+ defibrilator on the school site. School has qualified Paediatric and First Aid at Work staff on the school site. Thank you to members of staff who have completed these courses to safeguard children.
