Reception
Welcome to Reception!
This year, the children will be taught by Mrs Quinn and Miss Reely, with support from Mrs McCarron and Miss Parveen.
We look forward to working in partnership with you to support and celebrate the unique strengths of every child. Our goal is to help them grow into active, curious learners who love to explore, create and think independently. By providing a warm, safe and nurturing environment filled with playful and engaging experiences, we aim to give your child the best possible start to their primary school journey.
We believe that when children are free to explore and learn through play, they thrive personally, socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, creatively and intellectually, enabling them to flourish and reach their full potential.
In addition to child-led play and exploration, we place a strong emphasis on early reading, phonics and maths through carefully planned, adult-led sessions. These provide children with essential skills and knowledge that form the building blocks for future learning. We use engaging, interactive approaches to ensure these early foundations are secure, while still making learning fun and meaningful.
Christ is at the heart of all we do. We place a strong emphasis on the religious, spiritual, moral and cultural development of every child. By learning about and understanding the teachings of Jesus, we aim to help children grow closer to God, becoming kind and caring individuals who strive to help others.
Our goal is to build strong foundations based on personal achievements, spiritual growth and a sense of moral purpose. We aim to nurture the unique, God-given gifts of every child so they can grow into happy, confident and curious lifelong learners and ultimately, become kind, successful and active citizens.
