Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

This year the children will be taught by Mrs Smith, Mrs Greenaway, Mrs Crehan, Mrs Hirji, Mrs Pickles and Miss Fraser.

We have an exciting year planned and will be enjoying a number of trips to complement our broad, engaging, creative curriculum. We are looking forward to developing and enriching your child spiritually, emotionally and academically.

Over the year we will be learning about the lives of lots of Saints; they are all inspiring examples of how to live our lives.

Year 3 is an especially significant year as we continue on the sacramental path that began with Baptism. The children will prepare for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. Father Murphy and Father Lennon will be providing valuable support and guidance for these important steps on our journey of faith.

We study so many fascinating topics in Year 3 and we can’t wait to share these with you! Who was Howard Carter? Where is Skara Brae? How do you write a ‘Triple If Then’ sentence? How do you draw a graph? What is palaeontology? How many Global Goals are there? Can you draw like a cave-dweller?

If you have any questions during the year, please do not hesitate to contact us on year3@st-bernards.bham.sch.uk. We look forward to working in partnership with you this year.
