The 'BIG' Takeover Day 2026

Following successful applications and interviews, our year 6 children stepped into their roles for the day as St. Bernard's celebrated our first ever 'Takeover Day.' Our acting Headteachers introduced year 5's class assembly and wrote the newsletter alongside other tasks through the day. Lot's of children chose the role of class teacher or teaching assistant, delivering fantastic lessons to classes throughout the school. We also had children working in the office and supporting Mr. Yoxall with jobs around the school. The children really demonstrated their maturity and gained an insight into working within a school. They were all very tired at the end of the day!

We call it St. Bernard's 'busy school' because we are always trying to enrich the education of our children with different themed days and off-site visits.

And...don't say we don't do anything! Because, check this out! We are St. Busy, Busy, Busy...St. Bernard's school!
