'GET DOWN TO THE MUSIC ON THE DANCE FLOOR'

    20 May 2022 (by admin)

There's a 'move and a groove' in school...there's a sway and a dancing swagger as we start thinking of how MUSIC impacts on our daily lives - it can make you smile, make you a little teary, it can bring JOY and bring people and communities TOGETHER.

It's DISCO FEVER time at St. Bernard's school - it takes place next week at a SCHOOL HALL near you!

Disco of course started as a mixture of music from venues popular with Italian Americans, Hispanic and Latino Americans and African Americans, in Philadelphia and New York City during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It's now spread to St. Bernard's 2022, and the glitter ball is ready with the DJ vibe booked!

Letters have already been dispatched - disco events for different year groups take place Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (after school).

PLEASE NOTE, CHILDREN CAN COME TO SCHOOL DRESSED IN THEIR APPROPRIATE DISCO ATTIRE on their dancing disco day (appropriate footwear please):

    Monday - REC/KS1 (finish 4.30pm - pick up)

    Tuesday - Y3/Y4 (finish 4.30pm - pick up)

    Thursday - Y5/Y6 (finish 4.30pm - pick up)

Important to note that children will be dismissed from the usual playground areas after their disco event has 'had the last dance'

GET DOWN, GET MOVING, GET FUNKY, HAVE SOUL, GET ALL THAT JAZZ, SHAKE IT TO THE RYTHMN, ROCK ON, HIP HOP TO THE TOP because DISCO week is near!

    MUSIC makes a DIFFERENCE!
