News Stories WARM WEATHER...hot, hot, hot! Just a reminder about making sure your child is set up for the day...warm/hot weather. Thank you parents. WONDERFUL Y3 HOLY COMMUNION MASS - WELL DONE CHILDREN A BIG well done to all our wonderful YEAR 3 HOLY COMMUNION children. They led and celebrated a most joyous and special Mass on Saturday - an absolute credit to the school and community! WELL DONE Y6 - KEEP IT GOING! SATs week is up and running! DON'T FORGET ABOUT SATs BREAKFAST (it's free for the Y6 children). It makes such a difference to the Y6 children, being is school, and ready to start their SATs day after a social and healthy school breakfast! KEY DATES/EVENTS on the BUSY SCHOOL HORIZON Summer term 1, 2025 is already in full swing. Take a note of some of the key events/dates that are happening soon over the next few weeks... HABEMUS PAPAM...we wake up to wonderful news The new Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Christ, the new Holy Father, the Successor of St. Peter, new Sovereign of the Vatican City State, our new Pope...Pope Leo XIV. He stood on St. Peter's balcony last night, looked full of emotion, and greeted us all. EVERY LITTLE HELPS - NO NUTS/NUT PRODUCTS/SESAME SEEDS Please make every effort to check that food you send into school does NOT contain NUTS/NUT PRODUCTS. A reminder that we have several children who do have life-threatening allergies. SCHOOL ATTENDANCE - SPIN the WHEEL WINNERS! SUMMER term ahead... We had our SPRING TERM school ATTENDANCE 'spin the wheel' assembly this week in school. Great FUN! Great ENERGY in the school hall! ALL children who had 96% or above for the SPRING TERM had their names on the ATTENDANCE WHEEL! NEWSLETTER DAY is TODAY, FRIDAY - Friday 9th May 2025 Another edition in the comfort and palm of your hand... SAFEGUARDING in SCHOOL - LOCKDOWN DRILL TODAY A BIG well done to all the children and staff today because St. Bernard's initiated a LOCKDOWN DRILL on the school premises this afternoon. Y6 REMINDER - NATIONAL TESTS next week - SATs on the busy horizon! Y6 children up and down the country will be sitting NATIONAL tests next week. We wish them all the very best. Our wonderful children have been working hard also and next week is all part of their educational journey to secondary school.
