WHOLE SCHOOL FAMILY ASSEMBLY this morning

    9 September 2022 (by admin)

This morning in school we met as a whole school family and were led in prayers by Mr. Foley - we dedicated our prayers to Elizabeth II. A sad time for the nation as a whole and for many millions around God's world.

She was indeed a Queen of certainty and stability - she will be greatly missed. A person who crossed the divide of nationalities, many cultures, political leaders and many faiths.

St. Bernard's children gathered with staff and reflected on her time on the throne. It was a quiet and reflective assembly but we also smiled as we all watched the Queen have tea with Paddington Bear. It was a lovely end to a special assembly.

Children left the hall with a little sadness and a smile.

Staff today will be doing activities, answering questions and leading children in discussion time.

It might be a time over the next week or so that children ask difficult questions at home to their parents. There will be significant coverage on the social media platforms and TV outlets - children can easily get upset and affected by it all.

This website offers helpful advice. We also have helpful sites on our busy school website.

The Government and Dfe will be issuing information/guidance to schools and educational establishments very soon regards Official State occasions. Rest assured we will inform parents and our school community regarding any updates we receive.
