Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

This year the children will be taught by Miss Kavanagh and Miss Cartmill with support from Mrs McParland, Mrs Curran, Miss Begum, Mrs Barney and Mrs McCormack.

Our children are at the heart of everything we do. It is our belief that children have the ability to achieve and become life-long learners. We will work closely as a Year 2 family to achieve this. We are a team, both children and adults alike.

Our Catholic Faith is very important to us and we strive to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, making the right choices, leading by example and loving one another. We will grow on our faith journey together by regularly attending assemblies, taking part in and leading collective worship sessions and celebrating Mass.

In Year 2 we love reading and writing and we share stories every day. We like to be challenged and we use our maths skills to make links with the world around us. The topics we cover in the wider curriculum such as ‘Space’ and ‘The Great Fire of London’ are interesting and exciting and we have planned trips and visits to enrich our learning experiences.

We are all very much looking forward to our year together.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on year2@st-bernards.bham.sch.uk
